PRESS RELEASE (November 15, 2007)

FBA to Launch Funeral Home Buying Group in 2008.

Louisville, KY - Funeral Business Advisor magazine is announcing the formation of the FBA Buying Group (FBABG) beginning in January 2008. By definition, a buying group is a cooperative of business owners working together to buy the products and services they need at discounts normally reserved for larger corporations. FBABG's job is to empower independent funeral homes by giving them the clout of volume buying and purchasing power without sacrificing their independence. In addition, FBABG will help enhance the sales and streamline marketing efforts for participating vendors by simultaneously allowing them to offer their goods and services to a large group of active and willing buyers.

The FBABG's primary goal will be to continually work with industry vendors (manufacturers and distributors) to contract special discounted pricing for all participating members of the group. The negotiated pricing will offer "guaranteed discounts" that are made available to ONLY group members. Members will continue to order and buy their products and services as they have in the past, thus maintaining any and all established relationships.

Michael Manley, Publisher of FBA magazine stated, "In most instances, small independent businesses pay higher prices for goods and services because these higher costs are used to subsidize the discounts that the large corporate entities receive from industry vendors. Because it costs more to market and sell to individual or independent locations, vendors need to charge more for their goods and services to this group. By forming a large group of buyers, FBABG will organize a cooperative of independent funeral homes that can now work together to mimic the advantages that the corporate locations receive when purchasing their goods and services. The key is strength in numbers. The advantage is more competitive pricing on the purchases that funeral homes make and at the end of the day, improved profitability for both funeral homes and vendors alike."
